Can you get pregnant if you have sex while you have a uti?

Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Yes: Engaging in unprotected sex is best way to get pregnant, regardless of whether you have a bladder/kidney infection or not. In other words, infections don't prevent pregnancy. Only birth control (contraception) prevents pregnancy. Along those lines, birth control pills don't prevent sexually transmitted infections either so if you're not in a mutually monogamous relationship, make him wear a condom
