Adrenaline: Our fight or flight response (nonphysicians know it as adrenaline) can make our heart rate and blood pressure higher and in some people even without heart disease, can result in chest pain. In severe cases it can even result in a situation that mimics a heart attack (called taka-tsubo) that can effect the pumping of the heart.
