Normal: Even though it looks white or yellow, it's the response from a dilated pupil being photographed with the flash on. It shouldn't show with the flash off, and if it's truly white, you need to see your eye doctor and get a dilated examination to make sure your eye is normal! Otherwise, it should be fine. Blue eyes tend to do this more than brown eyes.
