Ask doc: Ritalin (methylphenidate) prescribed for ADULT ADHD or Narcolepsy is safe when taken as prescribed by your doctor. Most people do not require "high doses" and the dosing range is pretty stable. If your doctor has prescribed a high dose, it may because you are breaking it down faster. Do not change your dose without consulting your doctor.
