Hi have got to go for a pelvic scan due to pains in the stomach an irregular periods what are they looking for is this bad?

I don't know: It is good before you leave a doctor to understand the reason for further testing.the irregular periods suggests a possible gynecological condition. You are however at an age wher periods could be irregular due to impending menopause.i would suggest that when you go back to the doctor you go with someone ,so they can hear what the doctor is saying as well and give you moral support.Good luck
