Irregular periods: Irregular periods are very common. If you normally have regular periods and then suddenly have one that is early or late this usually gets better on its own with cycles returning to normal over the next few months. If you are not wanting to be pregnant you should discuss birth control which will also help with cycle control.

Common problem: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Cycles can vary: Your menstrual cycle can vary somewhat in period frequency and amount of flow. As long as you are not bleeding heavily, you should be ok. If you are concerned about your irregular cycles, you can talk to your GYN about OCPs to regulate them.
