A member asked:

I took a bc powder (845 mg aspirin) around 6 pm, can i take ibuprofen (800mg) a little bit after due to toothache ?

No: Typically we tell patients to avoid taking both aspirin and ibuprofen together as they have similar mechanisms of action and can cause adverse effects (GI bleeding, etc).

Not good idea: Aspirin & Ibuprofen are both NSAIDS, so taking that much actually constitutes overdose. Pain pills will not cure and infection (abscess), and it will not go away by itself. You need to have the infection treated before it gets out of control. You MUST see a Dentist ASAP. Don't wait, call now.
