Should be ok: Combined oral contraception like Loestrin if started within 5 days of the start of your period works almost immediately. If started after that then it's effective after about seven days. Assuming you've been taking your birth control religiously you have less than 1% chance, if you haven't been great you have about a 9% chance. If you are that worried talk with your doctor about plan B.
