Pediasure: Pediasure is a nutritional supplement designed for occassional use in children when additional calories are needed. It is intended to SUPPLEMENT, not REPLACE normal foods. It is generally recommended that 1-2 cans be offered per day, in between meals. Pediasure is high in sugar, and more frequent use may interfere with intake of regular foods/meals.

Why ?: This is the equivalent of a higher priced baby formula. It is primarily designed as a supplement for those kids who need an occasional boost, to assure an adequate nutrition. Some complicated kids end up tube fed with something similar for all their nutritional needs when they cannot eat. I would review the issue with your local doc. There ase less expensive ways to do this. .
