Lewy body dementia - does anyone know of any cure for this disease?

Unfortunately no: Lewy body is like alzheimers with progressive loss of cognitive function. It however has more psychiatric symptoms early on including: depression, paranoia and hallucinations. Treatment with some of the alzheimers meds, namenda, (memantine) excelon and arecept may have temporary benefit, but no cure.

No cure, sorry: Dopamine meds for physical parkinsonism: Azilect (mao-b selective inhibitor) & sinemet +/- Comtan (stalevo (carbidopa and levodopa and entacapone) is both together). Tailor rx watching for side effects. Avoid Dopamine agonists (requip xl/mirapex er/neupro)--too side effect prone for lewy body patients. For dementia: namenda, paired with Exelon patch or aricept. For psychosis: seroquel or even clozaril. For excess sleepiness: nuvigil.
