My boyfriends helicobacter pylori ab, eia blood test came back with a result of 1.0 which is more than the standard range. what does this mean?

Past infection: That he was exposed to h.p. at some point in his life. It doesn't mean that he has it now as an acute infection, although he could. This test will tell you about past infection. For acute infection there are other tests that can be done. You didn't comment if he has symptoms or not, or if he was treated in the past? I suggest he follow up with PCP.
