Ileus: Where your gut isn't moving things along through it, it gets distended and rounded and we call that an ileus. There are many things that cause ileus- from a viral flu bug to an incarcerated herniated condition called intussuception, where the gut telescopes up inside itself. First try tiny sips of water or Pedialyte. If he won't take these or vomits them , then you need to go to ER.
