Possibly: If you get the Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) within 5 days of your period it should work within 24 hours. After that 5 day Window use a condom for the first 7 days. Even if beyond both of these windows up to 3 out every 100 women have an accidental pregnancy on the shot.

Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone)...: Is a great method of birth control because it provides immediate protection against pregnancy. So if you had sex the Wednesday AFTER getting Depo, then you are protected. If you had sex two days before your Depoprovera shot then unfortunately you do still have a low risk of becoming pregnant. Also remember Depo doesn't protect you from sexually transmitted infection. You still need condoms 4 that.
