STD prevention: You have to worry about 2 things 1. unwanted pregnancy - you may use birth control pill (for girls), condom etc. There are various options for girls. 2. STD - condom is highly recommended. that is the only way STD can be prevented.It is a good idea to get checked.

Check for BV: In general, STDs are less commonly spread between lesbian women than in hetersexual couples. The standard STD tests are very accurate, so no worries about those (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphiilis, HIV). But you should both also be tested for bacterial vaginosis, if that hasn't been done. Although BV isn't usually considered an STD, usually transmitted between women if either partner has it.
