Many possibilities: Causes for elevated liver functions are numerous and include: viral hepatitis (A, B or C), autoimmune disorders (including lupus), toxins (such as alcohol) and drug effects (including azathioprine). Most of these can be tested for and even if related to medications, the decision of risk versus benefits should be considered with your physician.

Injury to liver: cells can elevate live enzymes. Some medications such as imuran (azathioprine) of hydroquin can injure liver cells.
