Trigger finger: If the pain if mostly in the palm at the base of the finger it may be a trigger finger. Other symptoms include catching or locking of the finger. May also be arthritis if the pain is more in the joint. Anti-inflammatory medicine may help both conditions. If not, see a hand surgeon.
