A doctor has provided 1 answer

Check prolactin: If you haven't recently (within the past year) had a baby, it may be best to check the level of a hormone called prolactin in your bloodstream. This hormone normally elevates during the lactation process, but can be elevated also in women who have a benign tumor in their pituitary gland called a microadenoma. This prolactin can cause irregular cycles as well.
