Tight asa washboard?: Of the pain in the abdomen is such that it causes "guarding"(muscles tighten up and become rigid), then you need to go to the emergency room or urgent care clinic ASAP-one may have a PERITONITIS. This is where there is inflammation on the lining of the abdominal wall. It can be caused by bacteria leaking into this cavity; if it's due to a leak from your intestines, something needs to be done now!
