Bleeding between: periods is what you have. This may be due to hormonal fluctuations, an infection of the reproductive tract, a trauma to the cervix or vagina or premenstrual symptoms, an ectopic pregnancy. Take a pregnancy test if you miss your period.

It sounds like: you are having your menstrual cycle early. If you develop severe abdominal pain that does not behave like your typical cycle, it would be reasonable to be examined. If you are regular, its a bit early to have symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. Even so, if you have severe pelvic pain and have been attempting pregnancy, it is safest to be evaluated. Best wishes!
