Limited intake: Some of the oils of herbals can stimulate the uterus and cause contractions. You're probably better off adding some basil to meals instead of ingesting large amounts of it.

Not a good idea: Pregnant women or those trying to conceive should not use basil since it lowers the levels of estrogen.

Not recommended.: Although full of vitamins and minerals, it is believed that Basil seeds reduce estrogen levels. Should not be taken when trying for pregnancy or while pregnant.
