Yes: There is no reason not to have protected sex at any point in the cycle. Remember, condoms decrease the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases but do not eliminate the risk entirely.

Bad idea: less likely at be fertile; however always use DOUBLR protection: birth control pills plus, condoms, foam, jelly . spermicidal egg. I believe another doctor already answered this question.
