A member asked:

Is it only the l5 nerve that runs over the si joint if i had anything up with the joints and it affected the nerve would i get just the l5 pain route ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The answer varies: Normally the SI sacroiliac joint and the L5 nerve root are not close enough to affect each other. SI joint symptoms- low back pain, soreness with palpation L5 nerve root symptoms- outer lower leg numbness, decreased quadriceps reflex
