Binging.: Drinking any more than 2 drinks at a sitting is considered binging, and can do damage in the long run. While 1-2 servings (a serving is 4 oz. wine or 12 oz. beer or 0.5 oz. hard liquor = 0.4 oz alcohol) daily is modestly protective, binging (drinking more than 2 drinks at a time) has never been shown to be beneficial, and is probably harmful.
