Better than water: Pedialyte has been designed for pediatric patients with vomiting/diarrhea. It has a higher salt content than Gatorade. This helps with replacing electrolytes and repairing the bowel. Flavored and cold Pedialyte seems to be more acceptable. If he will take Gatorade it has some electrolytes and is better than liquids with few electrolytes such as water or juice. Medication/IV fluids may be needed.
