Bad headache on right side of head pounding what the cause?

Usually migraine: is the cause of pounding headaches on one side of the head in a 25 year old lady especially if this is recurrent. Now having said that I must point out that there are a few uncommon things that will present with headache that require further investigation. Many things can cause or contribute to migraine.
