Birth control: Hi, Birth control with Depo-Provera begins immediately after the first shot if given within the first five days of your menstrual period. It has to be repeated every 12 wks in order to stay effective, the only reason for u to use condom is to prevent STD as Depo does not prevent STD and HIV.

Depoprovera: Depoprovera is usually an injectable contraceptive, and his highly effective if taken as directed by a healthcare professional. It is always a good idea to use condoms to minimize the chance of infection, especially if either partner is having other sexual partners. The chance of pregnancy with unprotected sex is minimal, but can occur if the depoprovera has not been used punctually.
