A member asked:

What about syndrome of bartter care news in usa? i have this and in italy is a rare disease. care?? only potassium? news in usa patients?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on mutation: ACE inhibitors, spironolactone and increased salt and potassium are used along with extra potassium through supplements. There are many different forms of Bartter Syndrome, at least five known gene defects, each with different age of presentation and associated problems. Knowing the specific gene defect will help guide care.
