Pregnancy: Progesterone is called pregnancy hormone, because it's essential before and during the first 8-10 wks of pregnancy as it maintains a supportive environment for the developing fetus, after wk 10 the placenta would do that. if BHCG doesn't double up it possibly means the fetus is not viable.
