No: ...Although it is normal for breastfed baby's stool to be quite loose. Rule of thumb: if the weight gain is appropriate, it isn't diarrhea no matter what you find in the diaper, or how often.

No: Breast milk doesn't cause diarrhea or worsen the ongoing diarrhea. Breast milk contains pro- and prebiotics which plays important role in maintaining and restoring 'good bacteria' in our bowel. Therefore, breast breast feeding is encouraged even when infant develops diarrhea from viral infection or from taking antibiotics.
