Arthritis: You may be developing arthritic inflammation in the injured joint, however, if the pain is acute with a warm and tender joint, there may be bursitis, tendinitis or even osteomyelitis (doubtful without an acute penetrating injury ). May take Motrin to relieve some of the inflammation and schedule an exam with a rheumatologist or a hand surgeon (plastic or orthopedic) you will need x-Ray of the hand
