Should be fine..: There shouldn't be any cross reactivity between these two common medications. Just be careful to always eat something before you use Advil (ibuprofen) and if you use it regularly for more than a week let your doctor know

No: It isn't harmful to take them together. It is NOT the case that they'll interact badly and cause side effects. But the Mylanta could interfere with the absorption of the Advil. For you pharmacists in the crowd, the Mylanta may significantly change the area under the plasma concentration-time curve for the ibuprofen. It is best to take your other meds at least a half hour before any antacid.
