Safe: There is no official recommendation on safe travel in pregnancy. Obviously, if you have pregnancy complications you should not be traveling (premature labor, pre-eclampsia, etc) or if you are full-term. At 8 weeks you will be fine - be sure to take your medications for nausea and vomiting. Bring prescription bottle with you!

Oh my!: Flying at 8 weeks of pregnancy by itself isn't risky but flying at 8 weeks with hyperemesis gravidarium is a bad idea. The safest time for you to fly is after the hyperemesis has resolved, then, if the pregnancy is progressing normally, through the second trimester. Regardless, you'll need consultation with your OB, particularly to avoid a venous blood clot.
