Resolves with time: After surgery or trauma, the tissues require 6-12 months to complete the healing process. All surgical incisions will divide tiny sensory nerves to the skin which begin to regenerate after surgery. As these nerves return to normal function, they will often send "shooting pains", sensations of "lightening bolts", "dripping" sensations on the skin and other sensations that will all resolve.
