Can lupus lesions be located in the armpit? looking red and inflamed, raised, and sour smelling? thought it was yeast but cream didn't seem to help.

Infection: it is possible but probably not, but it sounds like more of a hair follicle infection or a hydradinitis which has a purulent foul smelling drainage that antibiotics would help probably.

Lupus is less likely: Lupus is less likely. If anti fungal cream did not help, I recommend you to see a doctor for further evaluation.it might be bacterial infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics.
