Anovulation: in order to have a period you have to ovulate. Sometimes after a term pregnancy as well it takes several months for your ovaries to start back ovulating. If this goes on for 3 months you need to see a doctor who will do some tests and give you some medications to get started. If you are on a lo wdose pill that could be the problem

Hormone changes: Bleeding in females is all controlled with hormones. Your pregnancy created hormones to maintain the fetus. After the abortion, this hormone is still made until the body recognizes that the pregnancy is gone. It is common to have irregular bleeding for 4-6 months after pregnancy. If the bleeding becomes excessively heavy or dizziness/ light-headedness seek out care from OB/GYN or ER
