Back pain: I am curious to know how this diagnosis was made. Did the Dr. do any blood tests, Imaging? What did they tell you about the blood testi results? Were antibiotics prescribed for you to take? If you're not already doing so you need to be monitored through regular blood testing and being on antibiotics if indeed this is the correct diagnosis. The normal course may be about 6-8 weeks of antibiotics.

Discitis: is not a condition. Back pain may be due to lumbar disk (unlikely in young people, at most 10% of back pain is disk disease; lower in younger). And... disk vs. muscle strain has similar good prognosis of getting better in a week or two. Phys therapy can be helpful in prevention Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health
