Allow seven days: Azithromycin can remain in the body for more than ten days after a single dose - as in the usual treatment for chlamydia. By day seven, chlamydia would be cured and the chance of transmitting the organism would be negligible. The chance for reacquiring chlamydia is very high if the infected person's partners are not also treated.
