Definitely a risk: 1in5 Americans carries the herpes virus. There is a higher risk of transmission while having an outbreak but virus is shed even when there is no outbreak. It only takes one sexual partner to give you the virus and then you can transmit it for the rest of your life even if you never know you have it.Be safe and insist on a condom. If they care enough about you for sex, they care enough to use a condom

Who knows?: It doesn't matter if you or they had 1 other partner or 1000. If that one partner had an STD then you are at risk. And not just herpes... Go get screened for EVERYTHING. Many stds have no symptoms. Testing is the only way to know. Please think a little bit about your future. Please be safe.
