Many causes: There are many causes for a cough that won't quit. Some things to think about and bring up with your doctor (because you should go back) do you or others hear a wheeze? Do you have heartburn? Do your ankles swell? Do you have phlegm? Do you have allergy symptoms like runny nose , sneezing and itchy eyes? This may give your doc some clues

Cough: Possibly could be cough asthma, bronchitis, acid reflux or pneumonia. Make sure you have a chest X-ray. Start with an ENT if no findings see a lung doctor

Cough: Be reassessed. There are many causes of coughing and not always pneumonia. Some patients with chronic coughing have asthma. Whooping cough is an infection that can cause a bad cough and doesn't always respond to antibiotics. See your doctor for follow up. A chest XR may be indicated at this point.
