Folic acid is good!: It is a good idea for women of chid bearing age to consider using prenatal vitamins because there is added folic acid (folate). Folic acid deficiency has been associated with birth defects such as spina bifida. Vitamin supplementation in general may not be better than getting nutrients from a proper diet, but it a good step towards good health and wellbeing.
