YES: YES; however it is not common to ovulate during your period which usually occurs mid-cycle. This sounds like either old menstrual blood mixed with cervical or sexual mucous.

Not likely: This is the expulsion of the endometrium or uterine lining, normal menses. Not a sign of ovulation.
