Take a test: The first order of business after a missed period is to take a pregnancy test. They are reliable as early as the first day of a missed cycle. There are many things that can cause irregularities of menstrual cycles, most are not worrisome in the long run, but some require treatment. Your gynecologist can evaluate you if your cycle does not start soon.
