Yes: A women can become pregnant if she has intercourse 5 days before ovulation. Sperm that pass thru the cervix can live up to 5 days in the reproductive tract and then fertilize an egg. Some sperm may survive in a weakened condition for up to 7 days, but not likely to have the capacity to penetrate and fertilize an egg.
