Cost and Ethics: Cord blood banking can offer much peace of mind, but it is important to consider the long term cost of banking and to be sure that the bank that you choose shares your ethics. You might ask what limitations they have for use of the banked blood and what might happen to the blood if you choose not to bank it anymore. Another question might be whether the blood can be shared for research purposes.
