Birth control: It can take up to 6 months for your cycle to become regular again. If you have been sexually active, you might want to get tested to rule out a sexually transmitted infection. Bacterial vaginosis, which results from a change in the normal bacterial makeup of the vagina, can cause a watery discharge. You should get a pelvic exam.
