What causes retinal disorders?

Many things!!!: The most common retinal diseases are macular degeneration (older patients), tears and detachments (extreme nearsightedness) and macular holes and epiretinal membranes. The range of retinal disease is very broad.

Retina: Causes include trauma, tumors, infections, cancers, heredity, inflammation, herpes viruses, high blood pressure, diabetes, lupus, sickle cell, syphilis, hiv, toxoplasmosis, behcet's disease, etc.

Variety of causes: Retinal disorders can be caused by a wide variety of conditions, such as infection, inflammation, chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, trauma, degeneration, hereditary and even some unknown causes.
