Clomid (clomiphene) primer: Clomid (clomiphene) (r) is a tradename for Clomiphene citrate, a stilbene derivative. Pharmacologically it's an estrogen antagonist in many tissues (not all) of the body. It's only indicated use is ovulation induction. Besides a very small statistical increase in twin and tiny increase in triplet rates, it has no significant risks. Mild side effects are common, but all are time-limited.
