Early exams best: Dates can be very unreliable so we use lots of other markers such as the size of the uterus at an early exam and hearing fetal heart tones with a fetascope at 20 weeks but an early ultrasound is the most accurate. Your midwife is undoubtedly basing her judgement on many such things and I'd trust her judgement. At any rate, you have almost finished the marathon that is pregnancy so congratulations
