Hernia?: The soft lump sounds like a hernia. You should schedule a visit with your doctor for an exam. The exam and your symptoms will determined whether you will need surgery. If the lump becomes hard and painful and is associated with vomiting, you should be seen right away. Your other symptoms may not be related to the hernia itself, but may be making your lump more apparent.
