Both are bad: Both are bad for a teen's health, psychologic developement and are illegal in the United States. Both drugs are associated with various health problems that they can cause or make worse.

Why pose such a ?: Mj use in teenage leads to loss of iq points, decreases academic achievement, validates the drug culture, & is implicated in mva. Same for alcohol use, although studies aren't as convincing about loss of iq. Alcohol is short acting so danger is acute. Mj is long acting so danger is prolonged & pervasive. Mj is foolish to use in teenage or adulthood. Moderate responsible alcohol in adulthood ok.

Both: Teenage intoxication is dangerous whether the drug is alcohol or marijuana.
